My Aiki Story

 русский

It is not an easy task to write an essay, small, and even about yourself. I'm going to try it anyway.

In our time, in the early 21st century, all actively engaged in martial arts. It before – football, hockey, track and field, athletics, gymnastics ... today – judo, karate, taekwondo, aikido... When I heard these names, at once remembered Jackie Chan, and did not even think that someday I will be engaged in Aikido! I've always said it's not for women, it's painful and dangerous.

It all started from my granddaughter, who started aikido in Vitaly sensei’s dojo when she was six years old. Aikido trainings were closed, and only on examination, I saw how children carry out receptions. It was very interesting and impressive.

One summer I decided to come with my granddaughter to tendoryu aikido summer camp.

In the camp there were many kids and teenagers, with different levels of training. It was interesting to see how they perform techniques, especially older guys and girls.

During the camp, Vitaly sensei conducted training for adults too. And I decided to try Aikido for the first time. My eyes understood how to do techniques, but the hands and feet confused, and nothing worked!!

Six months later, I decided to come to Vitaly sensei dojo and try training Tendoryu Aikido by myself. Step by step I dived into Aikido, something began to turn out, I wanted to make techniques, movements(techniques) correctly and beautifully.  It turned out that Aikido is beautiful, smoothly, develops coordination, concentration ,attention, as well as beautiful posture and smoothness of movements, and is quite applicable in life: how to get around an obstacle, it is easier to open a heavy door, fall correctly, so as not to damage yourself.

Aikido is interesting, it's exciting! For 4 years lasts my Aiki –story. And somehow everything was gradually, step by step forward-white, yellow, red, green... and slowed down. Some kind of stalling for two years. Maybe it's time to stop?!

I think I can handle it. Aikido is great, cool, very important, and a lot depends on Sensei. We are lucky to train under attentive and caring in love with Tendoryu Aikido Vitaly sensei!

Here is a story about me and Tendoryu Aikido. By the way, all my friends are very surprised to hear that I’m doing Aikido. I thank my granddaughter and daughter for bringing me to Aikido!
